Post of Principal Director

The Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) has been set-up by the Government of India with UNDP/UNIDO assistance at Kannauj (U.P.). The center is a Government of India Society registered under societies Registration Act and is functioning as an Autonomous Body under Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The Centre aims to serve as an interface between essential oils, aroma-chemicals, fragrance and flavour industry and the R & D institutes both in the field of Agro-technology and Chemical technology. The main objective of the center is to serve, sustain and upgrade the status of farmers and industry engaged in the aromatic cultivation and its processing and to make them competitive both in local and global markets.

The Principal Director being the Chief Executive of the Centre is entrusted with the powers & responsibilities for implementation of the programmes and policies for the development of Fragrance & Flavour Industry and to provide technological support through well equipped sections & divisions manned with highly skilled and motivated work force. The Principal Director shall exercise his powers under the direction, superintendence and control of the Chairman of the Governing Council.

Applications are invited from citizens of India for the post of Principal Director (Scale of Pay Rs. 14,300-400-18,300) in Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre, Kannauj, which is proposed to be filled-up on contract basis.
The details regarding eligibility conditions etc., are as under :-

Qualification & Experience :

(a) Essential : Post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry/Botany/Agronomy or degree in Chemical Technology/Chemical Engg./Agriculture Engg. or equivalent from recognized university or institute with 15 years.
Experience in a responsible position in an Industrial Establishment/ Technical/R & D organization dealing with fine chemicals/phyto-chemical or aromatic and medicinal plants cultivation/processing or creation of fragrance/flavours, or quality management in phyto-chemicals and fine-chemicals.
(b) Desirable : 1. Doctoral degree in Chemistry/Botany/Agronomy or Post Graduate degree in Chemical Technology/Chemical/Agricultural Engg. or Post-Graduate diploma or degree in Management/Computer Science.
Experience in production/R & D work/teaching conducting Training programmes in organization dealing with aroma-chemicals, essential oils, flavours & fragrance, aromatic and medicinal plants, spices and oleoresins.
Experience in Human Resource and financial management, Industrial relations and General Administration. (In case of exceptionally deserving suitable and meritorious candidates, requirements of experience can be relaxed at the discretion of Chairman, Governing Council)

Scale of pay : Rs. 14,300-400-18,300/-. The post besides Basic Pay, carries allowances as per Govt. rules. Selected Officers would be provided family accommodation in the campus

Age : Not exceeding 50 years (relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST, departmental candidates and employees of Govt., Semi-Govt. organizations and 3 years for OBC). The crucial date of determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates

Duration of Appointment : The appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of 5 years initially, with further extensions based on review of performance.
