In North India, particularly Bihar region nearly all
central and west Bihar cities has
shown tremendous potential for growing of mint and basil crops. We have
already attained number one status in the world. Around 55000 ha of land is
under cultivation of different varieties of mint. To generate employment and
income in rural areas and to contribute sustainable livelihood by production
of essential oils and their value added products and to disseminate
information on cultivations and processing to mint cultivation zone, the
Patna Centre on mint is established. Technology Support Centre, Patna will
give a scientific base to the persons and entrepreneurs engaged in this
industry. |

Facilities & Status:-
- Office and laboratory equipped with chemical and instrumental analysis
of mint and other essential oils have been established and started
rendering services.
- Awareness programmes are being organised.
